Well its been a while since I raced my F2, but for 2009 I will be building a 1300 saloonstox which will be raced primarily at Buxton, although racing will also take place at Skegness and possibly Kings Lynn. All the steelwork and expertise will come from Wayne of Wayne Helliwell racing!
I bought the donor car today.....a P reg Corsa 1.2 from a salvage yard,with light panel damage on the front corner....Im sure it will look worse after a meeting or two anyway! Had to give £140 for it....was advertised at £200, so didnt do too badly I dont suppose. Also managed to source a 1.3 engine to be fitted when it gets to that stage!
Also in the last month, Ive bought a new work van from F1 World Champ Andy Smith at Rochdale Van Centre. Its kitted out in the rear with benches, has a night heater, 240 electrics, generator etc, so will also be making a great tow vehicle!

Not a lot to report that isnt in the saloonstox build page!
A thank you goes to Shaw Tyre & Exhaust who have sponsored me to 8 new tyres though :)
Ive got a few bits and pieces together...3 gearboxes, 2 carburettors, a few driveshafts , a set of skoda allys from Rob Speak & some vauxhall ones from Wayne Helliwell. A 6 point harness out of a 911 turbo circuit racer was a bargain too..£20 and from a bloke 2 units away from me :)
Also bought a new camshaft & followers off ebay...not really needed, but at £15 I couldnt resist!!
Getting busy at work now, but hope to press on with the new car wherever possible.

Most of the info regarding the car is on the build page, other than that Ive bought a new trailer....nothing special at all, and needs a bit of work (Yet another job!) but should be OK for a while I hope. Get some tyres on it and see how it goes!
My licence has come through from Buxton, and Ill be having yet a different number.......#3 !!

I will update this eventually...but a quick summary is -
Blew Redline up in practice & missed first meeting
Put another engine together myself
Few problems, but won 2 finals & a heat & leading the points by nearly 70.
Usual complaints have started.... illegal car...jump starts....etc etc. You have a smart car & do well = Cheating & loaded. Well so it seems....ZZZzzzzzzzz

Another rare update!
Well I went over to Skeggy a few weeks ago to try the car out & race with a few more cars. The car wasnt good thats for sure! lol. It was pushing on so bad in heat 1 I nearly pulled off, but persevered in the end finishing almost last I think, although I did have to start dead last in every race! Thanks to Dan Booth, I tried some different tyre pressures which helped a lot but to be fair the car was still pretty bad - certainly improved ,though I seem to have a bit of an intermittent misfire too??! :(
Went well towards the end of the final, but was a bit late by that point!
At the moment we're altering the back of the car a bit to try & get it a bit looser, so hopefully that will have worked & will go much better next time there, and still be ok at Buxton.
The next meeting for me is Sunday 23/8 at Buxton, and then all being well Im off to Skegness on the 30th for the Gold top race where Im starting on row 5 :)
After that Im displaying the car at Buxton for the F2 World Final weekend,and after that Im not sure of my plans really. I think Wayne Helliwell is going to have a go in it the next meeting before I sell it ...... Well thats the plan anyway! If I get a good offer for the car it will go, if not Ill keep hold of it & see how things go for the rest of the year. About £2000 will own it....
